Retract button drill bits are specifically designed for fragmented, unstable, or geologically variable rock formations in rock drilling construction. Unlike standard bits, the retract bit features a distinctive skirt body with multiple grooves and a tapered tail profile. This design allows the bit to be easily retracted during drilling accidents or hole collapses, significantly reducing the risk of getting stuck downhole.
Beyond their anti-jamming design, retract drill bits offer the same flexibility as standard button bits. They can be customized with various thread types, face designs, and carbide button shapes to suit specific ground conditions.
